SUSTAINABLE AND LOCAL: FISHMEAL AND OIL COMING FROM FISHING AND OVERFISHING WASTES.

In front of the aquaculture intensive development and the predictable stagnation of fishmeal productions, the reduction of fishmeal proportions within the aquaculture food is in constant evolution. Despite the research on vegetal and animal substitution foods, there are limits for nutritional and zootechnical reasons.
Fish farming grows and we have to find ways to feed with efficiency the breedings.

SENEFISH proposes the repurposing of organic wastes coming from the wild fishing by installing micro-unities of treatment in harbors of the Senegalese cost. Their reduced size, adapted to the artisanal fishing activity, allows an optimal revaluation and an easier collection.
The produced meal is rich in protein and places Senegal as a partner of choice in the food supply dedicated to the fish farming on a world scale.

EFFICIENCY

Each established production unity allows the treatment of 7.500 tons of wastes and allows to improve life conditions of more than 180 people each year.

SCALABILITY

The little size of an installation afford us to think about its quick development in little harbors of the whole cost area.

BENEFITS

The costs cleaning improvement involves positive sanitary consequences for tourism and health.
